Residential Care For The Elderly in Teignmouth and Devon

Your Most Difficult Choice
The decision to move to a care home is often a very painful one that we’d much rather avoid. For the person moving it may be viewed as a loss of independence and individuality, wrapped up with fear of losing control of your life.

For those looking after an elderly loved one it can mean feelings of guilt for ‘putting them in a home’ and that you have somehow let them down.

If you feel like this we strongly recommend a visit to Moors Park House because the reality of life here is very different….

New Friends & A New Life
You’ll find a whole new lease of life when you make your home at Moors Park. Far from it being something to dread, most of our residents blossom once they’ve moved here.

They find a very active community where everyone is friendly and welcoming so it isn’t long before you feel like one of the family.

A Beautiful Place To Live
Moors Park House is set in its own grounds with extensive gardens to both front and rear. Here you can simply relax and enjoy the abundant plant and wild life or get involved with a bit of practical gardening if that’s what takes your fancy!

The rear garden is walled and very secure while the front garden has spectacular views across the Teign Valley. This is very beautiful whatever the time of year and the front facing conservatory provides the perfect place to sit and take in the view year round.

We also have an inner courtyard garden which is a favourite sun trap in the summer. This is the perfect place to just sit and read or take tea with friends and family.

Living With History
The home itself is an old manor house and retains many of the interesting period details and feel of a country seat. If the thought of a modern featureless care home that looks like a Travelodge gives you shivers, you love the traditional luxury of Moors Park House.

Modern & Traditional Style Bedrooms
Behind the main building is a discreet modern extension with fully equipped en-suite bedrooms and facilities. So you can choose whatever style of room suits you best – modern in the extension or traditional in the main house.

Whatever style you do choose you’ll find your room is tastefully decorated as standard. However we really want you to make it your own room to reflect your individuality and taste, so please feel free to bring along all your treasured mementos and small pieces of furniture. We’ll even re-decorate to your taste if that’s what you’d like.

Many of the rooms also overlook the valley so if you’d like a room with a truly spectacular view just let us know.

Friendly And Caring Staff
One of our core philosophies is that we employ nice people. We don’t employ people to be nice. This means you’ll find all the staff are genuinely caring people who work at the home because it’s their vocation to look after the needs of other, not just a job.

Of course they are all extensively trained in how to look after the elderly, but it goes much deeper than that. You’ll find that they have a real, deep, natural understanding of your needs and feelings and close friendships and bonds are often forged that last for many years.

Activities & Trips
Life at Moors Park is definitely far from dull and boring!

Another reason that our residents are so happy is that instead of being lonely at home on their own, they are part of a community. We have lots of activities going on at the home all the time. Crafting, traditional games like dominoes and cards, sing along, visiting entertainers, gardening, cooking, and even exercise classes.

There really is lots to do, but because of the size of the home there’s always a quiet corner just to sit and read or watch TV if that’s what you’d like. We even have free wi-fi access so you could be one of our ‘silver surfers’ club that’s rapidly growing in popularity.

What To Do Now
We hope the above has given you a taste of what life at Moors Park is like. However, there’s no substitute for coming along and seeing for yourself so why not join us for a day or even a weekend?

You and your family are welcome to pop in anytime, but we find that staying with us for a day or weekend really is the best way to help you make the right decision.
